I forgot what year exactly this band was formed, but as far as i remember, i was on 2nd grade of high school. So, i supposed it was on 1996 or 1997. The first formation was 5 people and the band called SUSPECT DEVICE.
I was the drummer at first, but then our guitarist ( Koko ) leaves the band. So we have to decide who's gonna fill the guitar positon or else, we're fucked. By that time, i can't even play guitar properly, but i took the challenge.
Since the drummer position became vacant, we asked my frontman (Adis) brother to help us, He (Arif), was a street punk drummer from a legendary band called WARHEAD.
Then, again, our rhythm guitarist (Pentoel) and bassist ( Ade) decided to leave the band. We were stressed out by that time.. My little brother introduced me to one of his school mate name Farhan. He said he can play bass quite well,so we asked him for a jam and we took a vote, the vote was...He's good and we want him to be our bass player. Farhan became our bass player ever since. Due to the formation of the band, from that day on we called our band SPEAK UP...
On the mid 99, we had a very serious intern problems related to our frontman, it was a week before we recorded our first album!!! So with all due respect our frontman determined to leave the band... We were sooooo fucked up during that time, there were only 3 of us without a frontman...
We were thinking a lot and concluded, we dont want to recruit for a frontman, instead, there must be one uf us become one, and they choosed me. I took the job and do the best i can to be one, a few days, a few months after, we recorded and released our first album called BELIEVE US TRUST US on august 99 under UNITE Records and "STORY OF OUR LIFE" on January 2008 under Hit N Run Records... and keep trying to release another one...
