The North Shore School of Dance (NSSD) is a professional school with 6 studios in two locations. We offer graded classes in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, modern and hip-hop. We also offer adult classes, variations, partnering, Bollywood, and piano lessons.

The NSSD boasts a highly qualified professional faculty, along with guest artists from major well-respected dance companies. Faculty members make it possible for the school to offer an extensive program from pre-school to professional. Not only do our students benefit from our excellent faculty, but also from the live piano accompaniment in our ballet classes and the extensive performance opportunities.

The North Shore School of Dance is recognized for our positive educational environment and our contribution to exposing students and their families to the arts. We have continued the tradition of the finest professional dance education in the community for over 40 years.

The North Shore School of Dance presents an annual Nutcracker productions, choreographed by our own professional faculty. Since 1989, our sold out productions include our own students ages 8 and above along with performing guest artists who help our dancers experience a professional atmosphere. Over the years, our Nutcracker production has been highlighted in Ravinia's Winter Wonderland and continues to be a family tradition. The Nutcracker production is held the first weekend of December at the Raymond Moore Auditorium at Lake Forest High School.

North Shore School of Dance also has numerous dance companies for our students. CIC our hip hop company ranges in ages from 8-teen and performs at competitions and NSSD productions. The North Shore Dance Company invites dancers ages 8-teen who are interested in all styles of dance to perform around the North Shore, Assisted Living and Nursing Homes, and NSSD productions. and, for our intermediate and advanced dancers, the North Shore Repertory Dance Ensemble offers North Shore and NSSD performance opportunities and the chance to work with choreographers and dancers from Chicago's top dance companies.
