Michelle Renee is an award-winning author, international speaker, PTSD breakthrough expert, and non-violence activist. Her story, "Held Hostage", recently went from memoir to film for Lifetime, a project she was the Creative Consultant & Associate Producer for.

An abused runaway teen, Michelle became a part time bank teller who, within 8 years, was an award-winning executive Assistant Vice President in the banking industry.

Her life was shattered at age 35 when Michelle and her 7 year-old daughter were kidnapped via home invasion, held hostage for 14 hours, taped with exploives and Michelle was forced to rob the bank she managed to save their life.

After loosing everything but faith and each other, and a vision to heal her life from her childhood through adulthood, Michelle and her daughter embarked on an amazing journey of emotional healing and self discovery in the wide open spaces of Alaska, the ancient land of Egypt, The beauty of Italy, and the rugged landscape of Australia.

Awakening to a calling on her life to focused on non-violence activism and positive change, with resiliency, inner strength, courage and optimism Michelle Founded Rock to Stop Violence, penned her memoir, and went back to college to study Communications/PR.

She has been awarded for her work with survivors of violence, abuse and trauma; is an international speaker; owner of M Enterprises(Common Unity PR/Delish PR), the PR Specialist/Consultant for Constant Motion Creative Media and Creator of Women Who dreamBIG®

She is an honoree alongside Oprah Winfrey, Maya Angelou, Joe Torre, Shelby Lynn and Monique on the Chicago Survivor Wall at La Rabida Trauma Center. She is a featured Huffington Post blogger, contributor for Glow Project Magazine, has been featured on "Fighting Fear w Oprah" on Good Morning America, BIO, ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, Lifetime, and has been interviewed as an expert for the NY Times, and REAL SIMPLE magazine. She has also been featured on multiple radio stations around the country. Michelle goal is to inspire, educate, and empower millions of people about the issues related to violence, abuse and truama and the importance of the family and youth voice for postive change.
