What's that? You say you've never heard of Metal Slug? For shame! Everybody should experience the adventures of Marco and his rowdy crew of mercenaries at least once. Besides, It's not like there's a lack of sequels or anything. Do yourself a favor and pick up a Neo Geo MVS or a Playstation Portable along with a few MS games. I've been playing the Metal Slug: Anniversary Collection on my PSP for years now and it never gets old. It's one of those timeless games that challenges you every time you play it. Be warned, the series is known for it's soul crushing difficulty and swarms of enemies. Even on my PSP, I still get a lot of slowdown in certain scenes. Now, I'll admit, I do not own a Neo Geo. It's one of the many things I have to acquire according to my bucket list. But the beasts are so darn expensive! I love King Of Fighters and SNK games as much as the next guy, but I'm not in a financial position to harvest a kidney for them. A pinky toe maybe. Fun fact, did you know your pinky toe is actually crucial to keeping your balance? Without it, you'd be wobbling around like a drunk killer whale. I was surprised to here how rampant organ harvesting is nowadays. A few weeks ago, I was watching an episode of Nip/Tuck where a lesbian woman gets hit on at a bar and ends up going home with her suitor. After a heated night of passion (and ample amounts of drugs), she wakes up with an ice pack and a cell phone taped to her hand. Turns out, her escort of the night was part of a international ring of harvesters looking for a quick buck. Considering their profession, they were awfully courteous about the whole thing. You'd think they'd just ditch her in the West River and let her float back home, but that wasn't the case. She was sedated in a swanky sky loft with bottles of champagne everywhere. Still, kidneys are rather important and I'd rather hang on to mine. Hey, here's an idea...
GUMMY ORGANS!
Taste, Texture, and Consistency.
I've been a massive Haribo fanboy ever since I first tasted their Gold Bear gummies all those years ago. They've always been a comfort food for me when there's no chocolate around. They're also an integral part of one of the best drinks ever made. I am of course talking about "Suudsu". Skim milk + Gummy Bears = pure genius. The Cheat and Strong Bad were definitely onto something with this glorious concoction. Surprisingly, it doesn't seem to have much mainstream appeal. When I request the beverage at a fancy steakhouse or fast food joint, I'm met with blank stares and confusion. "Sud Who?", they inquire. All while cocking their head in a comically quizzical fashion. For reference, imagine your dog after you just explained the deepest workings of fluid dynamics. As a die hard Homestar Runner supporter, I cannot allow this ignorance to continue. I will do everything in my power to raise awareness of this benevolent nectar.
Expect it soon.
Conclusion.
Anything that makes me wax nostalgic about vintage arcade days is awesome in my book. The novelty of these will draw you in, but the taste will have you begging for more. Haribo forever!

Alfred Eric Leslie Satie (Honfleur, 17 May 1866 -- Paris, 1 July 1925) was a French composer and pianist. Starting with his first composition in 1884, he signed his name as Erik Satie.
Satie was introduced as a "gymnopedist" in 1887, shortly before writing his most famous compositions, the Gymnopédies. Later, he also referred to himself as a "phonometrograph" or "phonometrician" (meaning "someone who measures (and writes down) sounds") preferring this designation to that of "musician," after having been called "a clumsy but subtle technician" in a book on contemporary French composers published in 1911.
In addition to his body of music, Satie also left a remarkable set of writings, having contributed work for a range of publications, from the dadaist 391 to the American Vanity Fair. Although in later life he prided himself on always publishing his work under his own name, in the late nineteenth century he appears to have used pseudonyms such as Virginie Lebeau and François de Paule in some of his published writings.
Satie was a colourful figure in the early 20th century Parisian avant-garde. He was a precursor to later artistic movements such as minimalism, repetitive music and the Theatre of the Absurd. The Gymnopédies, published in Paris starting in 1888, are three piano compositions written by French composer and pianist, Erik Satie.
These short, atmospheric pieces are written in 3/4 time, with each sharing a common theme and structure. Collectively, the Gymnopedies are regarded as the precursors to modern ambient music[citation needed] - gentle yet somewhat eccentric pieces which, when composed, defied the classical tradition. For instance, the first few bars feature a disjunct chordal theme in the bass - first, a G-major 7th in the bass, and then a B-minor chord, also in the lower register. Then comes the one-note theme in D major. Although the collection of chords at first seems too complex to be harmonious, the melody soon imbues the work with a soothing atmospheric quality.
Satie himself used the term "furniture music" to refer to some of his pieces, implying they could be used as mood-setting background music. However, Satie used this term to refer to only some of his later, 20th century compositions, without specific reference to the Gymnopédies as background music. From the second half of the 20th century on, the Gymnopédies were often erroneously described as part of Satie's body of furniture music, perhaps due to John Cage's interpretation of them.
