Thank you for posting this. It's interesting to see how other composers tackled the motif (sensitively, rather well fashioned). It's just that Beethoven decided to take his to the nth degree and then some, setting the standard for others to emulate.

Alas, I missed this part (returning home from work). IWG is a childhood favorite from my choirboy days. I loved the bombastic accompaniment too (brass overlay on the organ). I didn't know the royals had such a penchant for Parry (Blest Pair of Sirens and Jerusalem).
