*READ ME!* Dream Theater - The Count of Tuscany (Black Clouds & Silver Linings, 2009)
Hey, thanks for stopping by! If you're watching this, I recommend that you use headphones or earphones. You can also watch the video in HD for better quality.
This song is a masterpiece and I had memorized it already so I just played it. The bridge before the Floydesque passage might sound sloppy to you but if you check out the bass stem from the actual recording, it sounds kinda like that. The point is that, in a real mix, it should sound just fine, as does the original line (although it sounds sloppy on its own). Other than that, I just changed around some parts of the bassline to my taste. And there's a couple of small mistakes but whatever, I didn't really feel like doing any more takes.

Please excuse the slight lag in the first seconds and enjoy ^^. I had sync problems due to latency when I recorded and I had to resolve that manually. This is the best I could do (it would either lag for the second half of the video or the first few seconds so the choice was obvious ... :P).
The notation I used, note for note, can be found as a Guitar Pro file at: http://tabs.ultim...
or in .pdf form: https://rapidshar...

Hey, thanks for stopping by! If you're watching this, I recommend you use headphones or earphones.
Dream Theater is my favorite band of all time and, as you can probably tell (especially from my right hand technique), JM is a huge influence.

Protest The Hero - Palms Read (Fortress, 2008) *Adjust the volume & use headphones or else your subwoofer will crush your walls!!!!!!!11* Ah, and watch it in HD for (slightly?) better sound quality. =)
Any PTH song is a challenge, this was a special one because of the tapping sections and that slap & pop section towards the end. Along with the various time signature changes. Apparently most of the times I tap it sounds like shit, it's because I'm not using an actual amp, I suppose, no matter how I experimented with presets and stuff I was always getting a crappy sound when it came to tapping. I'm 100% sure my technique is OK because I've worked for hours and hours on my tapping.
The second time Arif uses tapping, I tried to make it out by ear, in the end I just played C#5 and B5 arpeggios in a sweeping fashion. Wish I had the time to do the same job for every other song on the album (especially some like "The Dissentience"), but I definitely don't have it... that's when you know you need a songbook, I guess :D.
