Midi Fighter 3D Ableton Push and Roland SPD-30 - Live Drumming DJ/Controllerism from DJ SEAP

4,940 views 6 months ago
A video of a rehearsal for my new show, a long time in the works, playing live cross-genre, bass heavy, Dubstep, Glitch-Hop, Electro, and other electronic music with live drums one man band style. In this video I'm using a minimal setup powered by Ableton Live with a DJ Tech Tools Midi-Fighter 3D controlling a drum rack and effects, a Roland SPD-30 "Octopad" with a few extra triggers controlling a series of Ableton drum racks for the all drum parts, and an Akai Ableton Push to control clips and some effects. The full show will incorporate some acoustic drums with triggers but this is the portable setup, ready to hit anywhere. For bookings and more info visit http://www.djseap.com . Native Instruments Maschine - Live Remixes - 'DJ SEAP' Play

Native Instruments Maschine, despite its ancestor the Akai's MPC series attempting to get back into the game, is the best all around groove-production hardware and software platform for quick, musical beat production. Also as seen in these videos is playable as an instrument using techniques honed by "finger drummers" such as Aarabmuzik, Jeremy Ellis, and Bass Kleph to turn electronic music tracks into living, pieces of music. This playlist displays LA based musician/producer/DJ DJ SEAP (Nigel Sifantus) ripping the pads with blazing live beats. Also included is a great tutorial video from Dj/Producer Bass Kleph on how he incorporates live Maschine remixes in his DJ sets (with no synching).
