Was that his first flight, and did he take one home to practice with? I think most of us who've flown other indoor kites need to "take a pill" and relax a lot when we switch to an iFlite. Or maybe watch one of the "Zen glider" videos a few times. Even Lam!

The knot (Larkshead Hitch) at the Tow-Point should be LOCKED ("capsized" inside-out so it can't slide on the bridle), I think. Maybe also the similar knot at the front/nose end of the bridle, too, though I don't really understand how that works. (I'm into gliders, but new to the Plutz.)

They're using colored tissue paper. I think it's the stuff they sell in stores that sell gift wrap, for stuffing inside gift boxes. The tissue that's used in tissue-and-bamboo kites (like India Fighter Kites) would probably work fine, too, but it's usually harder to find. The paper is very flexib...

The redheaded expert "ringer" is paperairplanesurfer, aka Phil Rossoni, one of the "leading lights" in the still-young field of walkalong gliders or (paper or foam. . .) airplane surfers. I assume Mrs. Nic brought him in as a resource for her class.

Your pattern lengths are slightly (1" or 25mm) different in the printed text above and the spoken commentary on the video. Did you change your mind about 8"L vs. 9"L? If so, in which direction?

Nice vid. I bristle a bit at the suggestion that there's an "upward" progression from 1 line to 2 to 4. I've flown them all, indoors and out, and I keep coming back to (steerable) 1-liners.. .

When will we be able to buy one -- or build one, without guessing about plans and materials?!?

You've just said that the function of coal is as backup, to meet fluctuating ...

I tried a number of techniques and different filenames (OK, NOT including TAG but no .txt), and nothing worked. Then I downloaded UpdataTime.exe from diganet.net, and it worked perfectly first time! :-)
