More than two years after Hurricane Katrina, The City of New Orleans remains in a state of crisis. The dedicated survivors of the storm struggle to rebuild their lives and homes amidst the ruins of their communities. They do so alongside a small army of volunteers. Because of a lack of resources, and virtually no infrastructure, the residents are in serious need of everything from social services, to help re-building their homes. The need for volunteers in New Orleans is just as real now as it was two years ago. Our goal is to illuminate the wide variety of services that certain organizations provide, so that a prospective volunteer can be more informed when choosing a field in which to volunteer.
