I agree there were some bad singers in the 70's, but they never lasted. I think the reason why it seems worse today, is that any one can put a CD out (on You tube etc), plus standards have just dropped similiar to TV and the movies.

I agree with most posts. In the past you needed talent to be a singer, Today shows like Idol is such a joke, Then we had many talented artist like Karen Carpenter, today we have such talent as Britney spears, Lindsey Lohan, Nicole Richie and the like...Ugh
