UPDATE 3-23-2009
To all martial artists;
I recently posted some videos from my first-ever martial arts tournament I competed in. They were videos of the sparring fights I participated in at the Tino Paz Martial Arts tournament in Caldwell, Idaho on 28 February, 2009. The videos were of my sparring matches.
The original reason I posted the videos on You Tube was that I was excited to have competed in the tournament, wanted to show off what I had done, and to ask other martial artists who viewed the videos for pointers or opinions on how I could better myself for future tournaments. After posting them and watching them a few times myself that day however, I made some comments to the videos that I thought that the judges missed a few points that I thought should have been scored, and had they been, I would have won the matches, but that since they did not see the points, I lost the matches.
I now realize that this was a terrible mistake. In doing so, I have disrespected the tournament holder, Grand Master Tino Paz; my instructor and school; the blackbelt judges who were judging my matches on my behalf; the fighters I was competing against; myself, and all martial artists in general. I did not realize this at the time, but I do, now. I have only been training in martial arts for about 8 months now, and I realize that my mistake was made in ignorance, but it does not discount the fact that I breached proper ettiquette. For this reason, I have taken the videos down, and I wish to apologize profusely to everyone I just mentioned, and hope that you will take my apology sincerely, and to accept it. I love martial arts and greatly respect all martial artists, and would never want to do anything to discredit myself, my school and instructor or anyone else for that matter. I'm sorry for my ignorance to the situation and for my actions. I hope anyone who saw the videos or who was directly or indirectly involved will accept my apologies. Thank you.
