«I say -- and all praise and thanks be to Âllâh, the Giver of strenght -- Indeed my Lord has guided me to a straight path; a correct religion, the religion of Ibrâhîm -- peace be upon him -- inclining toward truth. And he was not among the idolaters.
I am not -- and all praise is due to Âllâh -- a caller to the way of sufism. I am not a jurist, a speaker, or one of the great a'îmma, such as Ibn al-Qayyim, al-Dhahabî, Ibn Kathîr, and others. Rather I call to [the worship of] Âllâh alone with no partners, and I call to the Tradition of the Messenger of Âllâh - peace and blessing be upon him - which he admonished his Community, from their first to their last. And I do not wish to be thought of as one who rejects the truth when he receives it. On the contrary, I bear witness by Âllâh, His Angels and all His creation that if I receive from you a single statement of truth, then I will gladly accept it, and will throw against the wall any words that contradict it from any of my a'îmma, apart from the Messenger of Âllâh - peace and blessing be upon him - who only ever speaks the Truth».
«I tell you that -- and all praise is due to Allah -- I am a follower, not an innovator. My Religion, is the Religion of Âllâh, my way is the way of sunnis, which was the way of the a'îmma of the muslims, such as the four a'imma and their followers until the Day of Resurrection. But I explain to people that they must devote their worship sincerely to Âllâh . I forbid them to call upon the living and the dead among the righteous and others, and from associating them with Âllâh in any act of worship that should be done for Âllâh alone, such as offering sacrifices, making vows, putting one's trust, prostrating and other actions which are due to Âllâh and in which no one should be associated with Him, not any angel who is close to Him or any Prophet who was sent. This is the message which was proclaimed by all the Messengers, from the first of them to the last of them, and this is the way of the people of the Tradition and the Community».
