I deeply respect ninjas. Most people think that they are just some crazy guys in black that like to kill people for no apparent reason. Ninjas only kill their enemies, rival ninja clans, and the targets they are paid to kill. Ninjas were originally farmers and village people, but they eventually got sick and tired of the samurai warriors treating them badly and taking their goods. And of course them being samurai, the defensless, lower class citizen farmers couldn't fight back. The farmers/village people decided that they wouldn't take it anymore. Originally, they only attacked when there was one, lone samurai during the day. But eventually, they started attacking only at night, wearing shinobi shozoko-a ninjas uniform. Not all ninja uniforms were black. Black and dark blue were used for night missions. White was used in the winter-of course. And they also used a green kind of camoflauge color to blen in with the forest. The ninja would use any type of clothing that would get them closer to the mission goal. Sometimes the ninja dressed up as priests, peasants, or even samurai. Whatever the mission required, the did. When dressed in the shinobi shozoko, the ninjas flesh was completely hidden, except for a small slit around the eyes and hands. The tabi boots has a slit between the big toe and the second toe. The reason for the slit was to make it easier to climb ropes and scale walls. The shinobi shozoko had many pockets all through it. This was for storing all the small tools and weapons he or she (yes, there were female ninjas) needed such as poison, shuriken or "ninja stars", knives, darts and so on. The ninja als carried a small, primitive, first aid kit, filled with potions and solutions.
