this commercial is stupid. Landmines aren't meant to kill people, they're meant to wound them. This would effectively take multiple people out of the battle field because they have to be taken care of. Also the land mine would have blasted the person that mows the lawn first.

If you don't melt it together or use a binder it will always explode. As it flies it will break the packed masses apart and leave more powder which will all burn at once and just explode.

Some look kind of see through. Also most synthetic diamonds are that yellow color because of nitrogen impurities. To get the same color from just carbon would take an exceptional extended pi system in a really large molecule which would be more expensive than diamonds.

This isn't dehydrogenation, it's halogenation. The chlorine adds to the triple bond in acetylene leaving a double bond with a chlorine and hydrogen on each side. This reaction can also happen with double bonds, then radical halogenation can happen.
