Sulfuric Springs: Sulfuric Springs Amalgamated School District is proud to present the new season of its Beaker Award-winning science education show Exploring the Universe with Elijah Wood. "I am honored to bring another season of scientific enquiry to the four-county region" says host Elijah Wood, who serves as chair of the Physical Science and Physical Education department of Drain Creek Middle School.
The show will broadcast Tuesday Evenings at 11:45 P.M. on the EduTainment™ Channel (channel 109b). John Whitney is considered by many to be the "Father of Computer Graphics". He started in the 1940s building clockwork mechanisms with lights to draw directly on film. Later, he bought WW2 surplus analog ballistics computers and eventually started using digital computers. I believe this one was rendered using a vector display.
Incidentally, his son John Whitney, Jr. owned the company that did graphics for "The Last Starfighter".
