About this user

Nick Piro is inspiring. His music surprises you from the strike of the first chord to the resonance of the final note. His heartfelt songs ring with great honesty, and the musicians backing him give off a very contagious energy. You can see it in the reaction of and in the eyes of his fans.

Nick may live in the Orange, N.J. area now but he grew up in Whitehall, PA. After leaving high school he moved back to the area where he was born. Once back in North Jersey he interned at local recording studios where he learned a few tricks of the trade. While watching other musicians stream in and out of the studio, he realized making his own music was what he wanted to pursue.

In early 2004 he wrote on of his most popular and acclaimed songs "Angel." While many musicians have written songs that relate to angels, Nick's "Angel" is not just about celestial beings, it is an open plea for compassion sent out from the strings of his acoustic guitar to a girl and dear friend who needed an angel at the time.

Nick never thought he'd follow two generations of the Piro family into the entertainment business, but after returning to Jersey he began to travel the path taken by his grandfather, Tommy Piro and his father, Carmine Piro. However both of them ended their musical careers to stay at home. The difference with Nick is he won't let anything stand in his way. Nick listens to a diverse catalogue of musical genres including, Rock, Pop, Rap, Jazz, and Blues, incorporating all of them into his songs. In late 2005 he formed The Nick Piro Band which combines his talents and vision with a set of skilled musicians.

Nick's fans, self-dubbed, "Piro Maniacs" are numerous and diverse. When Nick talks about his fans he has a light in his eyes. "My fans are my friends, My friends are my fans."

2009 Update: Nick will be releasing his long awaited debut album "Angel" 09.09.09. Nick plans to follow the release of the album with a tour.
