I recently saw a hi-hat clutch that tama has come out with that is a very good idea much like the old drop clutch was a good idea, but my hi-hat clutch is automatic where the tama clutch is pre set and the drop cluch just drops your hi-hats. The automatic part of mine is there are no limitations on where you want your hi-hats one time they could be wide open and the next time you moved your left foot to your left bass pedal it could be as tight as possible, what im saying is its hands free and all up to you where you play your hi-hats...but you get a big ole case and a big bulky exspensive device with TAMA printed on it...(mine is cheaper and more user friendly..) so anyway I have invented the magic hi-hat gadget. If you play with two bass drum pedals you need one of these. When you move your left foot from your hi-hat pedal to your left drum pedal the gadget senses where your foot is and holds your hi-hats right where you had them and when you move your left foot back to your hi-hat pedal your hi-hat operates normaly. This is a small device that will attach to any hi-hat stand.
