We are the oldest and the original Stoic community of the Internet, founded as the Stoic Registry on the 8th of May, 1996.

The purpose of New Stoa is to bring together all those who are Stoics and who wish to be known by the commitment they have made.

Erik Wiegardt established our community (originally named 'Stoic Registry') in 1996. Go to www.newstoa.com > About New Stoa for a brief history. I have been a member since 2006 and have seen the community evolving. But there's still opportunity for improvement. Charles Clendenen said this in the last issue of Registry Report: "It would be nice for New Stoa to add a discussion board or even transition to a social media site." I think we should also work on meetings outside of cyberspace, like the Marcus Aurelius conference that took place in 2010 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqnCaQTqQQY).

We really are a small community. I've been a member for a while now, but only on the margins. Who started the New Stoa community? Whose idea was this?

Hi

Thanks for your interest in my series on the Stoic conception of God the logos and Reason. I hope you can give a critique of the video series.

All the best

If you'd let us comment on the videos I would subscribe. You have good stuff.

I devoured the videos, then came back to review a few again. Several are gone. Will they come back? I was especially interested in the stick active meditation.

Great work on the videos. I'd love to see more lectures from your porch when you have time. It's good to hear the explanation of these teachings. The books are great, it'd be cool to see you speak on them.

Big cheers for the videos. They gave a great insight in stoicism for me and encouraged to look up more. ^^
