There's a strong breeze blowing around the region of "Niederrhein". Combos that call themselves a metal band can hardly get on the gravy train.
:new damage attack again: After a year of intermission in favour of a new album (awaited in spring 2009) they are ready for takeoff now.
The formation was grounded in 2000 and starts now a much more provoking Metal offensive with new blood in front (former singer was Jerry Ülker).
Well-rehearsed and without any hit-or-miss :new damage enter the stages with a potpourri of melancholic sounds and brutal guitar power. Their style rather can be defined between Modern Progressive and Experimental Metal Music.
:new damage's trademark is having a weakness for changing moods with emotional depth, reached by systematically demonstrated guitar accents. First harmonical and clean, then scary and rather dissonant, Christian Surkamp puts his mark on the band's sound.
The ability of Ingo Bajonczak goes from expressive melodies to strong growling parts and at least aggressive shouts. He gives :new damage a new flavour and displaces dignifiedly the area of his Rock-/Soul- forerunning singer.
Peter Höttgens supports the guitar in an atypical way by slapping in addition to playing his six string bass tuneful and melodic. With abnormal breaks and displaced syncopes Thorsten Marach puts groovy and dodgy drum accents into the sound. So the rhythm troop lends :new damage a complex fundament, although celebrating their own extravagances.
:new damage spin their audience - not last by eye-catching stage presence - in a carrousel of emotions that hasnt been seen before.

Das, was wir von Euch in der Fabrik Heeder am Samstag sehen konnten, war super! Wir konnten Euren Auftritt leider nicht zu Ende genießen, da wir unseren letzten Zug um 0:00 schnappen mussten. (Wir waren aus Monschau angereist)
Weiter so! Wenn alles nach Plan verläuft - bis zum Moshroom Festival! (Das dauert noch so lange bis dahin - so'n Driss ;))
