I am trying to write a book titled Spirit Moonlight. It involves the life of my ancestor and soul mate.

Almost won a Mazda car in an Irish short story competition but was a winner all the same!

I am also on Facebook where I have set up a Group - "Were you at the UEFA Cup Final 1987?". It is an attempt to record a collective memory of that day. All comments are welcome from all supporters (Swedish and Scots).
Country: United Kingdom
Occupation: Lecturer, Researcher, Writer, Ph...
Schools: University of Abertay and Teesside
Interests and Hobbies: Recently I have been working on a series of films relating to life in La Rochelle, France. Extracts from my film of the 1987 UEFA Cup Final are included on the Dundee United DVD of that year - titled 'Flair Play'. This DVD is on sale at the United shop and online (£12.99). In 2004 visited the US to follow in my relative's footsteps. When I visited Fort Laramie, I was given a tour of the fort by an interesting guide. I asked a female archaeology student who happened to be digging near an old hospital what she was looking for. During this conversation my reasons for the visit emerged about my relative and his importance to Laramie (ie the man from Laramie!) and she replied, We study him at university!; Some days earlier, in Kansas a shop keeper had questioned my credit card and accent when I was buying a T-shirt. When I told him the story, he replied - We get him at school. Not bad for someone who had run away to the US at only 13! I am trying to write the book on him and would love help in any manner - funding (big organisstions) or chance to do Phd (universites) or both! Or any way you can or know of grants or things. I have named my page NEGBA as it was were my life changed. It was also the place I discovered I was theory y even though I did not yet know it yet - or even what that meant. Before that I was theory x - or thought I was, cause thats what people wanted and expected. I knew that at that time! But, I was theory Y all the time - I know that now!

I think so too!
For some people football is religion - with emotion and passion. Caravaggio shows that the good guy does not always win. The defeated can win too! In that strange way that images communicate.
The emotion seems the same, the connection and bond between men, the colour of the flags and of the flowing robes of Christ, the contrast in colours of those holding the main characters, the light of the lamp and the TV lighting, the turning away from the main scene of characters, the waving to those outside the picture, the natural lighting - but most of all the struggle to understand in both scenes - for both those in the scenes and those viewing as a spectator.
I find so much about this connection between the painting by Caravaggio and the selected scene from "Little Giants" interesting.
The "lost" painting of Caravaggio and its "new" found importance in the 20th Century has a similar story to "Little Giants". The movie could be said to have been discarded virtually when it was filmed - due mainly to it portraying defeat. It was only 20 years later with that defeat lost its power that in can be watched my many - including the filmaker himself. Why? What does this say?
