Kimberly Blair, recent graduate of Cabarrus-Kannapolis Early College High School, shares her story at Summer Institute 2014. Blair survived an incredibly abusive childhood, but found a new path to success through the early college. She has earned a full scholarship to attend Appalachian State University in the fall.

More than 800 educators and administrators from 120+ innovative secondary schools and districts across North Carolina gathered June 24-26 in Concord for NC New Schools' 10th annual Summer Institute, a three-day, educator-led professional development conference designed to advance the most effective approaches to teaching, learning and leading. Google education "evangelist" Jaime Casap is the event's featured speaker.
