I am an engineer (DFM, NDT) by profession and musician / producer by hobby.

I enjoy aeronautics and flying - esp single engine, fixed wing aircraft - I've taken a few flying lessons.

I am totally obsessed with music and music technology -

My heros (alphabetical order - this is only a small list; I have many more):

Amar Gopal Bose: founder of Bose Corp (he pioneered several innovative audio acoustic applications including speaker reflection and noise cancellation; NASA, Boeing, Airbus, Amphitheater and many others use his technology extensively)

Dave Smith: creator of 1st microprocessor synth; he also came up with the MIDI standard after working with engineers from Roland and other companies

Raymond Kurzweil: scientist extraordinaire who also created VAST synthesizers - he made the 1st digital synthesizers that could emulate acoustic instruments accurately

Robert Moog: father of analog synth; before his creation of the Moog, synths were absolutely gigantic and devastatingly expensive

Ikutaro Kakehashi: founder of Roland Corporation (Kakehashi and his team have made the best-sounding synthesizers and drum machines known to man - it changed the sound of music for the better indefinitely. Artists who used Roland machines like CR78, TR808, TR909, Juno and Jupiter synths created whole new genres of music with them that would have otherwise been impossible)

Toshi Kunitomo: Yamaha engineer who created the 1st modeling synths that does not just rely on samples

Tsutomu Katoh: founder of Korg, Inc (company that creates innovative, fat sounding synths - they created the 1st 'workstation' - a synth with all-in-one box; most modern music have a 'Korg' sound to it)
