What? The song did not "come from Shrek"! It is called Hallelujah and was written and recorded by the Canadian singer/songwriter Leonard Cohen in 1984 and has been covered dozens of times, including the version in this episode recorded by Welsh singer/composer John Cale.
Best version of this song I have heard (with the exception of the original of course). A profoundly introspective song and one that touches deep sadness. I have sat here tonight playing it over and over thinking about all the people who lost their lives today in Japan.
