~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Renee Maurice is well on her way to becoming an accomplished artist.
At just 18 years of age, this talented singer/songwriter has written over 160 songs, written 4 scripts for film and a musical for stage.
In 2006, her song, "For the love of Saula", which explains hers and many others' interest in the relationship between American Idol judges Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell, reached #1 on the Australian MP3 charts, and held its position for 10 weeks.
In 2007, Renee co-wrote and released the song Queen of Hearts with EMI, as part of the charitable organization, StarJam. The song was written in commemoration of Princess Diana on the 10th anniversary of her death.
The same year, she also wrote the title song and performed in the Theatre South production of Warchild, the original stage show by Gavin Richards, depicting the current day atrocities of children becoming soldiers. The show and song received high acclaim, globally.
Currently, Renee spends her time writing songs and performing. Renee has also written a musical called Seacliff: Demise of Ward 5, which surrounds the tragic events of the fire in 1942 at Seacliff Asylum, near Dunedin, which claimed the lives of 37 women. Renee hopes to see it produced in the near future and is looking into several avenues that may see that happen.
She has just released her 3rd album, Quintessential Melody, in December 2009, and already is receiving high acclaim for the stunning collection of meaningful original music. One of the songs on the album entitled "Still he shows us mercy" gained recognition last year in the international songwriting competition "Song of the Year", when it placed 2nd, in the Christian/Gospel section. Grammy-Award winner David Kershenbaum called the song "Cherub Station" from "Quintessential Melody", "A beautiful song with a beautiful melody and a beautiful singer". Another song on the album "Dagger-Rose" is currently sitting at #23 on the International Artists Company Website.
Her lyrics are astoundingly poignant, and intelligent, and her music is a weave of sensitivity and enlightenment.
Renee is one to watch out for in many areas of the entertainment industry."
Renee, I think you should use "Listen" as your audition song - you sing it GREAT! I truly think you should stick to these big, anthmn type, pop ballads. Your voice can go this big and you will kill them! Any of the Idol type shows would be good start for you. But no mater what keep singing - you're great! God gifted you with an incredible vocal instrument, use it! All the best to you. You're so talented!~
