@ millard27...actually the camp did exist in WWII, named Camp X. See book A Man Called Intrepid. Fleming modeled Bond character after Sir William Stephenson, head of British Intelligence in the US leading up to and during WWII.
Stephenson ran BSC out of 30 Rock in NYC, 35th & 36th floors.
