cascadeur · meaning | choral · lyrics

I'm a strange man
Like a angel
I'm invisible
Like a monster

But someday you'll understand
The meaning of your life
But someday you'll understand
The meaning of my voice

I'm the speaker
Of your silence
I'm the question now
Of your answer oh!

But someday you'll understand
The meaning of your life
But someday you'll understand
The meaning of my life
But someday you'll understand
The meaning of my life
But someday you'll understand
The meaning of my life

"I haven't felt such a shock since the discovery of Yaël Naïm" Thierry Lecamp / Europe 1
"le Point Cascadeur" each month on Europe 1 radio station
"A daring writer and unique voice who can take you up stunt flying, loop-the- looping through the air. A desperado with a cool Jeff Buckley or Robert Wyatt attitude" JD Beauvallet / Les Inrockuptibles
"No need for a ticket here - Cascadeur's musical journey is all you need for a trip !" Philippe Abiteboul / France Inter
Winner of the 2008 prestigious "CQFD" Prize (for "Things Just Waiting to be Discovered") awarded by Les Inrockuptibles, Cascadeur is an artist of the keyboard, painting sound landscapes of color-tinted notes, drawing audiences into a dreamlike atmosphere where one wanders with delight.
Officially born in 2004, Cascadeur is the stage name for Alex Longo, the singular vocalist and songwriter of three self-produced albums ("Mobile", "The Human Octopus" and "Road Movie").
Alex started to play the piano at the age of 9 before turning to pop and jazz 8 years later, now creating intensely sensitive music. The son of an architect, a devoted football fan, he studied plastic arts.
Today, Cascadeur is a musician as visual as he is sound-based. He takes brilliant risks, imbued with classical music and nourished by the most innovative trends. From chord to chord, one can hear the inspiration of Antony and the Johnsons, classic pop, Radiohead, and Nina Simone - but also Satie.
To uncover the current shape of his music, Cascadeur had to confront and tame electronics and sequencers. He was then able to let music that was ground up, dissected, and recomposed take form in his mind. The journey had begun... He collaborated with his friends Orwell, Variety Lab, and Sharko, who actively participate in his recordings in return. His work beckons - to travel, but also to remember.
On stage, Cascadeur is a character who might well have popped up right out of a comic book ! But though his face is masked, Cascadeur reveals himself through his music.
The sound boxer fights with great subtlety and humour. The drunkenness of the sound quickly intoxicates the audience. His work is currently receiving a lot of attention in France. Cascadeur is playing everywhere : at the Cannes Midem, at the Paris Bellevilloise, at Calvi on the Rocks, in a MMFF (French IMMF) showcase at the Réservoir, opening for the Nits or Heather Nova among others !
In 2009, it all picked up speed with his beautifully moving show at La Cigale for the Festival des Inrockuptibles, which got him immediately selected for the "Chantier des Francofolies" workshop.
His intoxicating voice and music will soon be featured in "Nous Trois", the new film by Renaud Bertrand starring Emmanuelle Béart and Jacques Gamblin.
Cascadeur'snext album will be his best to date. Ten songs, ten jewels, reworked and polished, selected from his first three albums and among 18 new songs. Step into his world - yours will be changed.
