The 'Pikoul Sisters' music appeals to those people who like sophisticated and rather unique blends of world, contemporary, Celtic, classical, ethnic, medieval, pop and new age music.

We were born into and educated in a family where classical music was very important. These early experiences have been mixed with the experience of our adult lives; we have lived in many countries and, like so many people in the world today, we live lives that are deeply marked by multicultural contacts. We enjoy listening to the best musical representations of all the styles and trends; the music of Genesis, Peter Gabriel, World Music and the Celtic sounds of Clannad and Enya, Medieval Chant, Jazz, and the wonderful compositions of Arvo Part and Osvaldo Golijov feed our compositions and love for music.

At the most abstract and the most detailed levels, there's really no separation between the various genres of music; we find that what matters is the pure spiritual expression of life through music, realised in a highly professional way. We believe our music reaches these expressive and technical goals in its multicultural and stylistic complexity, though it varies in how far we go in one direction or another.

We do, however, write purely classical music as well — let's say that it's our "native" idiom.

We want to touch the listener's memory and life, to harmonize the unmoved and timeless past with its moving origin, the present moment, by exciting first the ears and then the heart, with a mixture of sounds that come from all times and places that we humans have known.

We are searching for the highest artistic and professional quality, without losing the sense of staying in touch with our multiple roots which make up our human and spiritual nature.
