Lets not cheer the circus or be happy for the elephant until we watch circus elephant training videos. How do you get an elephant to do this? Do you even wonder??? The truth is not as glamorous as the show.

Happiness comes in small doses to circus elephants. A bath, a treat, a nap on straw... but other wise it's constant traveling, restraint and fear to disobey.

The undereducated circus personnel think videos like this will help the public to believe elephants aren't chained by the ankles most of the time. However they fail to show positive interactions and 'happy' behavior.

The people who enjoy the circus show have never bothered to educate themselves on the training of these animals.

All you need to do is look up videos that show how elephants get trained and I promise this kind of act will no longer be found entertaining. Circus is not fun for intelligent animals.

I ask that you look up the videos that showcase the training of 'dancing' elephants. I promise the methods utilized to make them do tricks won't be found as entertaining.

Circus animals are taken care of. They are well fed, washed regularly and have veterinary care available at all times. But this doesn't mean their lives are good. People that perform like this are just like the animals in circus. They start at a very young age with out an ability to decide for themselves. Many are undereducated.

This circus is a bunch of crap like the rest of them. Exploited animals kept in restraints. Under educated children performing with no pay. They collect cash only and then claim non profit. What a wasted consumption of fuel to drag this pile of 'entertainment' across the land.

Restraint alone is abuse.

If this were acceptable to do to an elephant people could own them like horses.

Restraint alone should be enough to qualify as abuse. These animals should have roaming space to move about freely at all times. If circus can't exploit animals enough to profit whats needed to move entire habitats then it's time to let circus live on in the history books.

Supporters of performing animals really don't understand... it's very simple. Restraint of an animal that prevents roaming freely is wrong.

Even if what you see in a video 'isn't that bad' consider the fact that these animals are in exactly this state of containment day after day for the rest of their lives. Circus winter quarters offers only a few short weeks of actual 'roaming' space.

Survival in captivity is just about the only choice. Too much habitat simply is no longer available to many species. This has nothing to do with the circus though. If the elephant is so bored why doesn't it stand on a barrel with one foot up or turn in circles on a pedestal? Or sit like a person and raise both feet and hold that position for 10 seconds...OH that's right! ELEPHANTS DON'T DO TRICKS NATURALLY.

Shut down the circus. They'll live forever in history. There is plenty of video to watch. These circus animal 'handlers' need to get a real job.

This is stupid. Literally. Most circus performers, especially the children cannot read or write at a level appropriate for their age. But I guess they don't have to if they can jump around and get paid for it.
