I am a 28 year old mother of five wonderful children. Josie is our oldest she is 10 going on 20. Anthony is 10 and you will either find him with his nose in a book or playing on his laptop. Destyni is 5 and she has enough energy for 10 kids, she keeps us all on our toes. JennaVy is 4 and is the funniest little girl. The things that come out of her mouth have us dying laughing.. My you-tube is dedicated and about my youngest child Ricky. Ricky is 11 months old has been diagnosed with PDD- Pervasive Development Disorder not otherwise specified and severe motor delay (Possible mental retardation). He is the sweetest, funniest little guy. We love him to death. I am making these videos for other parents looking for information and signs of PDD-NOS, Autism. Motor delays and global developmental Delays. I looked to you tube when I first started to notice something was different about my son Ricky (5-6 months old). All of the videos on here were very educational and helpful in researching what was going on with my son, I just could not find many videos of "babies" So I figured I would throw some of my wonderful little man on here. I hope I am able to help another family. Ricky is 11 months old. I noticed something was not right when he was about 6 months old. He never got his 6 months shots and I prob won't be getting his 12 month shots, I will decide when that time comes. I do not blame my child's symptoms on shots. During labor my sons heart and oxegyn levels were bouncing all over the screen for about 45 minutes it would go from between120-150 down about 10. We told the nurses and they just continued to watch and wait. They finally checked me and asked me to push. They then saw my sons umbilical cord had prolapsed (Fallen out and he was still inside.) So, He had NO oxygen for a good 7-10 minutes while they rushed me for an emergency c-section. There were 45 minutes of warning signs that something was wrong and no one paid attention until it was too late and he was cut off from all blood and oxygen. If something has to be blamed for the way my child is that would probably be the reason. I believe god made my child this way. He was born with this. Originally when my pediatrician first noticed Ricky's delays and odd behaviors he called it early onset infantile autism. He was sent to a neurologist that sent him for a MRI and genetic testing. Everything came back perfect and Ricky is totally healthy and happy. They decided for the time being they will diagnosis him with PDD-NOS and motor delays but will continue to watch him as he gets a little older for Autism. He recently went for his first visit to Nevada Early Intervention Services. They determined within two minutes my son did qualify for services. When the appointment was over they informed me that my son was at a 4 month old level and is global developmentally delayed in all areas. (Ricky will be a year in one month) I did not take offense to this, it is fine! If my son is mentally handicaped then so what? I would not trade him for the world! At the end of the appt they set him up for physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, a developmental specialist and a nutritionist! They are a wonderful program and we are so blessed to be provided with all of these services for our son. He has not started all of these yet but will be very soon. The best part of the program is that they make it doable! I do not have to miss work (My hubby and I both work full time) they actually come to my son, regardless of where he is.
