I like to see history portrayed as it was, rather than embellished. I've watched footage of the police action during the Shah's 1967 visit to Berlin and they were not nearly as brutal or forceful as the film portrays. Of course, this in no way excuses the killing of Benno Ohnesorg.

I think Dawkins is also correct in that we need to give people the proper sense of wonder and excitement about science and the natural world. Science education is partly guilty in that it tends to make the subject deadly dull and dry.

Ulrike Meinhof was a brilliant journalist but went a bit round the bend. Ensslin was sincere and intelligent but also lost all perspective. Baader was just a lunatic. Interesting people, but not to be taken seriously.
