@RasAhmose Yeah, I notice Ubuntu and Mac OS boot up a lot more quickly. Even Windows 7 is faster than XP though (after the long POST). Turning off "Boot Time Diagnostics" displays the ThinkPad logo for over a minute... the text-based POST takes less than 50 seconds. Weird.

@ejzllanes96 Windows CE will definitely run on it but it's not designed to just be installed on a device -- you'll need to build an image and include all the drivers, then flash it, which can be quite risky. Windows Mobile is actually based on Windows CE.
