The Eyes of a Lover
They open each new day of wondrous passion and thrills these tools of sight.
Brought to life by the visions of beauty you give to them in the morning light.
For so long they stared at nothing except the things I had come to know
Blinded to all but the images that for so long my life had bestowed.
Then as if by magic at a time when I wasn't unable to see
You came from out of no where proclaiming it's me,
I remembered the name. I recall the look.
But I had forgotten for so long the heart that you took.
It was gone in that moment you passed my way.
You returned it without knowing at the start of each day.
I lay every night and gazed up at my ceiling
To fantasize and ponder the emotions I was feeling.
How could this be, why with this one?
So wild, untamed and my God so much fun.
The light shone bright and my heart I heard pounding.
On the days you came the world seemed astounding.
Those glorious days I was in shock to discover.
You had stolen my heart but given back the eyes of a lover.
Exchanging Hearts

The Wonder in Front of Me
There were paths that led me here, in front of this wonder
So many turns and changes in elevation along the way
It's hard to remember why I chose the ones I did
Some were covered in beauty and laid under warm skies
While others became surrounded in dark clouds and thunder
I never traveled for very long on any of them it seems
I rested along many and took hold of the sights and the feelings
But I either push on or got shoved along by the winds of change
I always felt I was moving forward towards my world of dreams
At times though we all stop, turn around, to give our footsteps a glance
We want to see that we left something behind for others to follow
Some signs we had passed through and left our mark on something
It should be known I came this way in route not just by simple chance
But I can't convince myself, that on this day, I didn't just blunder
My way to this place where I now stand sweating and hardened
By the trip to get here and the sight of what lies in front of me
The warmth from the rays of sunshine found in you and all your wonder.
