Hello everyone, my name is Maiv Yaj Xyooj. I have been composing music for 3 years and played guitar for 4 years now. It's amazing to look back and see where I was. My first time performing was in 7th grade at Battle Creek Middle school playing Rush by Aly & AJ and Chains, me and Mai Thao Xiong's (my older sister) first original song. After that, music became my day to day life. Now I perform at events for my viewers and my own enjoyment. Me, along with Mai Thao Xiong, entered the "Kaj Siab" songwriting for the promotion of Mental Health awareness and got our song into their CD Album, which was released on June 5th, 2010. I am inspired by the many hmong artists that have made it big and influence the voices of others such as, Tou Saiko Lee, Kang Vang, Kong and Shue. They have proved that young or old, the creativity and link of the people within the community is visible. I thank you all and we all become part of that success of bringing the community together. =]
