The Inspiration Behind My Wet Monkey
The concept of MWM was developed by two mothers, Marli and Bobbi in a quiet seacoast town. Two women setting out to enhance, inspire and rejuvenate their sex lives. Marli and Bobbi quickly became frustrated with the problems associated with purchasing adult sex toy products. Tired of the humility, lack of anonymity and the feeling of shame when trying to purchase products locally. Added together with the embarrassment, less than desired environment and customer service typically found in the local "Porn Shop." Although, the brick and mortar shops have their advantages, albeit few. They left with having no sense of gratification so they decided to try something else.
Determined to find some relief. Marli and Bobbi decided to dive head first into the vast realm of on-line adult shopping sites. Turning to the internet they soon found themselves with a whole new set of issues. Wading past the Porn, DD's, Chat Pop-ups and so on. Feeling anonymous, but maybe a bit dirty. Marli and Bobbi picked a site to go with and were now faced with an enormous set of choices to make. Which to them, novices at the time, was intimidating to say the least. Now that they had their privacy. They now found it tough to decide on what they wanted because they couldn't psychically touch, feel or hear the items. Having nobody to answer their concerns. They typically would leave the site with money left to spend.
Overwhelmed, the wheels started to turn. Being two intelligent and educated women (frustrated) it was then that they knew there had to be a different way to get their shopping needs met.
The Vision
To take the stigma away from purchasing adult products. To take the taboo away from sex. To create a warm, inviting and nonthreatening environment for adults to shop. Having an interactive forum where people can learn and ask questions. To educate and help relationships through knowledge. To expand a couples sexual environment, spicing things up while they are at home. To do this differently than all of the other sites by combining the benefits of brick and mortar and online shops. While addressing each of the downfalls to create a fun, naughty (not raunchy) atmosphere. Understanding that sexual health is essential to spiritual health.
The Reality
After years of research, attending trade shows, building relationships, testing and trials. Marli and Bobbis' hard work paid off. Mywetmonkey.com became a reality in October, 2009.
