THESE WERE MY FAVORITE GRADE SCHOOL
HIT RECORDS
and they bring back the memories of my
grade school childhood (1957 -1963) at
Saint Emydius School, Lynwood, Ca.
ED MYERS' 60 YEARS OF GREAT MUSIC
The absolute greatest hits collection.
These "gems" made up the soundtrack of my LIFE.
MUSIC's "AGE OF INNOCENCE" 45 rpm's (50's-70's)
These are the songs I played and played till they wore out and I bought them again, on vinyl,
8 track, cassettes and CD's. (If I could find them).
Mostly 50's and 60's here, with a couple of 70's thrown in for appropriate good measure.
These records I cherished most; in my young life and still today.
EAST L.A.'s CLASSIC MIX
These were the cruisin' and neighborhood sounds of our multi-cultured "CITY OF ANGELS".
The Los Angeles radio airwaves bombarded us, by day and by night; while we danced, laughed, cried,
sang along, slept, studied, fell in love, fell out of love, broke hearts, mended broken hearts and celebrated daily LIFE.
These soundtracks resonated in vehicles, offices, workplaces, project housing, in the homes, dormitories, front yards, back yards, side yards,
on apartment stairwells, porches, driveways, patios, in dens, bedrooms, kitchens, family rooms and garages; while just hanging out, driving, riding in a car or working.
What would later become classic oldies, these
hit records of the day and time periods, were resonating at tailgate parties, bar-b-q's,
driving to and from work or school, a friends house,
or a planned encounter with someone special.
"Down at the beach or a party in town"..........
"Let's have a picnic, go to the park............
.......rolling in the grass till long after dark".
.
Boyle Heights, the Hollenbeck district, Montecito Heights, El Sereno, Lincoln Heights, Pico Rivera, Whittier, El Monte, South El Monte, Temple City, Baldwin Park, Monterey Park, La Puente,
San Gabriel, Alhambra, Montebello, Hacienda Heights, Santa Fe Springs, plus other communities and counties; sharing the greater Los Angeles area are represented here, by many local artists. However, the "out of area" sounds, from around the country, rang LOUD and CLEAR here too and
we all lived the dream...... that "was" THE MUSIC.
