3 Lessons I Learned From 1 Bullet About Business And Life (And That You Can Too Without Getting Shot)
In 2003, during a battle in Iraq, my life came to a sudden halt when a bullet slammed into my chest, tumbled downward and ripped through my lung and stopped just millimeters from my spine and nearly killed me.
During the recovery period that followed, I learned 3 HIGHLY valuable lessons that I'm about to share with you (and how you can immediately use them to Fuel change and growth in your Business & Personal Life....without YOU having to get shot of course )
EVEN THE LOAN RANGER HAD TANTO...
I don't know why Hollywood glorifies the 'loner' role...(as if being lonely is an accomplishment). But what I DO know is that you and I weren't designed to go through life alone.
The gun-shot wound and surgery, made me unable to do simple little things like go to the bathroom and take a shower without relying on someone to help me. Everyday, I had to through the humiliating process of having someone else do these embarrassingly personal things for me.
Sure I had learned teamwork in the Military,
but Fast-Forward a few years
and those painful moments of my life sure paid off when I finally got tired of struggling in my business on my own, *wised-up*, and stalked...uummm, I mean looked to other people smarter than me for guidance.
I attached myself to mentors who could show me what I should be doing, how to do it, what I should NOT be doing and how to identify what IS and ISN'T bringing value ot my personal and business life.
I found that becoming a winner in both Personal & Professional life, is tough and this is no place to be a Lone Ranger unless you have a weird fetish for loneliness & suffering.
LESSON #1 is about RESOURCES -- Everybody needs Other People...whether it's Resources, a Mentor, an Inside Connection, a Team, a Support Network...
Once I took *action* and connected my self to people smarter and more successful than me, my purpose got clearer, my focus got sharper and my problems got solved easier, faster and life just got a lot better.
Don't wait for someone to take you under their wing. Find a wing and just get under it. Today!

SAVED BY PRIVATE RYAN
So when I got shot it was reeeaaallly hard to breathe with all that adrenaline speeding UP my heart and a collapsed lung slowing DOWN my ability to take in air.
Private Ryan (his 1st name is Ryan, but for privacy reasons I omitted his last name. I hope you understand)
Private Ryan laid over me and couldn't do much more than watch as the life was slipping from my eyes. So, with only basic First Aid training, he went with what he knew..."move the wounded to a safe place and re-assure them until help arrives".
Since there wasn't exactly a place he could hide me in the desert, he just protected me with HIS body, looked me in the eyes and said,
"Sarge, hang I there...don't worry...I got you...there gonna have to kill ME first before they get you".
His actions didn't just save my life... it taught me that NOT ONLY does it not take anything complicated to SAVE a life,
It also does not take anything complicated to CHANGE another person's life.
LESSON #2 is about IMMEDIATE ACTION -- *Right Now* you can change your life and the lives of those who you meet in your Business and Personal life. It doesn't take a fancy plan or complicated technique but it does require an immediate action...a simple Immediate Action is better than no action. It worked for Pvt. Ryan when he saved my life and now it can work for you too!
