I only speak "a toute petit peu Francais" but have embraced this song in summer 1981 (I think),

Bought the Berlin album in the 80's. Allways missed songs like the worker and

so long but never came to buy those albums too. Thanks to Youtube my collection is now complete.

So many memories, serie, but song especially. Occasions where suicide is painless in reality...And sometimes it has been or may have been,...but that's another topic...has nothing to do with this supreme song/music!

I've known this tune only as "a best of" on a Kai Warner orchestra cassette from early 70s. Didnt even know it was a real song. great after so many years to see the original. Super, poptops. Saw they also sang Mamy Blue, same category!, super!!

In the summer of 1972/3 this song was a major hit in Holland, years later I bought the record and found it contained all kinds of lovely songs. Super entertainer.

For me it was my first single (with the greenish cover, later it was only avialable in grey, at least in Holland). Cannot understand this "intellectual" discussion below, enjoy FM and search for another forum to critiisize group members for what they may or not may have done in their private l...

I heard the song first in the early seventies by Mary Hopkin when I was living in Africa.. Loved it since then in her version. Can be Russian or Ukrainian from origine but to me it will allways be linked to Mary.

What was really amazing in those days...next song could be Dana with All kinds of everything..same show, same viewers...Loved those TOTP years (in Holland the same)
