I'm a very blessed 48 year-old woman who is married to my best friend. I'm also the proud mother of an Airborne Ranger in the United States Army who came home safely from Iraq. Thank God!! Sadly, he will soon be leaving again. This time for Afghanistan. My darling son you are my heart. Wherever you go I'll only be a heartbeat and a prayer away.

There are two cats, Sebastian and Spike and two dogs, Brandy and Sadie who allow us to live with them :)

For a long time now I have been watching videos of people who have been through, are going though or are just beginning on the road to gastric bypass surgery. There are so many wonderful people in the WLS community. So many sources of inspiration, courage and determination. My most fervent wish is that I may someday pay it forward and be an inspiration to wls pre-ops as so many of you have been to me. God Bless You.

A Military Mother's Prayer

Dear Lord,

Give me the greatness of heart to see the difference between a mother's love and duty to country.
Give me understanding that I may know when duty calls them they must go.
Give me a task to do each day to fill my thoughts when they're away.
And Lord, when they're in a foreign land keep them safe in your loving hand.
And Lord, when duty is in the field please protect them and be their shield.
And Lord, when deployment is so long please give me the support to remain strong. Amen
