My name is Ruben. I am 31yrs young, the proud husband of my soul mate and a father of 7 wonderful children. Yes! You got it; 7 amazing children! I will be tracking my weight loss journey here for myself, my family, friends and anyone else who stumbles across my videos.

I found that it is challenging to find videos on YouTube by men who have chosen to document their progress so I plan to post my experiences with you all so that hopefully many of the questions I and other people before and after me have, might be asked and or answered.

I have completed the six months of dietitian consultations required by my insurance provider, got denied due to changes in psych evaluation requirements and not one but two psych evals. Finally; almost 8months of jumping through hoops. I have been APPROVED!

I am scheduled to for pre-op consultation on August 14th 2009. Which I will then have all my labs done, pickup the two weeks worth of Optifast, 30 day supply of chewable vitamins and 7days worth of the Tre-Puree.

I will be on the Optifast diet from August 17-30th then have the procedure done on the 31st.

I waited until the approval process was successful to post my first video simply because it didnt seem real to me that I would actually go through with procedure. So below you will see some dates and progress as it comes into fruition.
