Earl Brooks Jr. was introduced to the Steel Pan in 1993 at age three. He played at his first gig one year later, featuring at the opening ceremony of the Brian Lara Promenade in downtown Port of Spain, Trinidad. By the age of five, Earl was already performing at several functions and competitions including Pan Ramajay. Brooks has accompanied well-established musicians such as his father Earl Brooks, Len Boogsie Sharpe, Liam Teague, Harold Headley, Mungal Patasar, Tony Voisin, Pelham Goddard, Frankie Macintosh among others.

Earl has never published a CD of his own, but is featured on a few. His first recording was at the age of eight on his fathers CD entitled Twin Towers. Subsequently, Brooks played on two of the Steel Love projects, produced and recorded by Yochi Watanabe. Most recently, he recorded four tracks on a CD with Pelham Goddard entitled Agra Jazz.

By the age of ten, Brooks had already entered various soloist competitions, at home and abroad. He has since played at Panorama locally and for about six consecutive years at Labour Day in Brooklyn, New York. Earl is currently a member of the Sagicor Exodus Steel Orchestra for the last eight years. Over that period he has gained much experience and knowledge of the music industry, making several overseas trips with the band.

In 2005, Earl was a member of the Exodus touring party to Japan for six weeks and in 2006 they spent three weeks in Europe. Brooks was also a feature soloist in the 2006 presentation entitled A Christmas to Remember with Sagicor Exodus and The Lydian Singers, held at Queens Hall, Port of Spain, Trinidad. For four nights, he thrilled audiences with his performance of Sleigh Ride.

Recently he performed at a concert acknowledging Dr Leroy Black Stalin Calliste achieving his honorary Doctorate from The University of the West Indies. The function took place one month after returning home from a three week tour of France with a group of five musicians. Earl arranged the 2009 Schools Panorama rendition for his alma mater, St. Augustine Senior Secondary Comprehensive School. The piece was entitled River Lime and earned them second place in the competition.

Earl is very thankful for the opportunity afforded him to be a part of the promotional and marketing team for the new Percussive Harmonic Instrument (PHI). It was designed and developed at the Steel Pan Development Centre, The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus. For the past year he has been demonstrating and promoting the instrument throughout Trinidad & Tobago.

Brooks has benefited from participation in The Pan in Education Business Model, a Magnet Programme conceptualised by Sanch Electronics for the development of entrepreneurial skills of secondary school students. In his own words The Programme has given me the skills necessary to seek self employment after graduating from secondary school. Earl Brooks Jr. has a vision to be seen as a positive role model for young musicians throughout Trinidad and Tobago and beyond.

In recent times, Earl has became a resident in the united states hoping to widen his verizon and experience in the music industry wether it be Producing, Engineering, Recording, Composing and/or Performing. Since being here Earl has had a few solo performances as well as two recordings. In closing, Earl hopes to one day become a world reknown Producer/Artist and some day become Dr. Brooks Jr.
