@mustaffa1611 I've held dinosaur bones in my hands. I know what plastic looks and feels like. Fossils can't be continously exposed to air and can not be allowed to come into contact with fungi or bactiria (unless u're one of those creationists that thinks atheists made up germs) so it doesn't rot. Bones are tissue made up of animal cells and dead tissue tends to decompose. Egyptians knew that thousands of years ago. I know because i've seen mummys - or were those plastic too? Fosilized bones are coated in a thin layer of polimer so air can't get to it. I've seen them do it.
