Theres a time for some relaxed mellow sounds. Relaxed mellow sounds such as those provided by Glasgow band Strangetouch. - Bluesbunny.

In November of 2006, Thomas McCallum, after seeing Eoghan Colgan in concert at the Glasgow Tron Theatre, was so inspired; he went home, sat down and wrote a song. That song was Nobody Makes Me Feel Like You Do. Three more tunes shortly followed: This Time, Take Control and Soul on Fire.

A few months later, Thomas was invited to play an acoustic set by Kincaid Live. He asked his friend, Jackie McGoldrick along to sing back up, and Strangetouch the duo was born. Neil Stewart joined the band in 2008, as lead guitarist, bringing what Thomas describes as much needed diversity, to the band. The end of 2008 brought an invitation from Forfar based band, The Trade, to play at their end-of-year bash, in Dundee.

Strangetouch played over 65 gigs in 2009 at venues such as, Glasgow Cosmopol, Clydebank Cosmopol, Box, Twisted Wheel, The Aragon, The Ash Bar in Montrose, and Glasgows Kelvin Hall. They also appeared at Glasgows Underground Festival. The band has been billed alongside notable artists such as, Eoghan Colgan, The Apsherons, Vivien Scotson and Patrick Bullen. Playing live sessions at TD1 Radio, Galashiels, and Celtic Music Radios Mary K. Burke Show, gave Strangetouch even more exposure.

In 2009, Strangetouch released their EP, Touched, which includes the tracks, Soul on Fire, Just Not There, Take Control, and Stuck in the Motion.

Drummer Ken MacEachern, formerly of Easy Action, was added to the line up in June of 2009. In February of 2010, Strangetouch rounded out their rhythm section with bassist and Coatbridge College of Performing Arts student, Mateja Muller.

Although their ages span five decades, they are a recruitment of kindred spirits, whose goals are to develop their sound, write collaboratively and have fun!

Alternative, pop band Strangetouch is making its mark on the Glasgow Indie Music scene with a modern, global sound that is steeped in 80s Postcard Records style.

Their appeal is ageless. Their music infectious. Their sincerity captivating. Do yourself a favour, catch one of their gigs, and get Touched, by Strangetouch.
