Music City Roots, Live From The Loveless Cafe is a weekly radio show featuring outstanding roots and Americana music from the stage of the historic Loveless Cafe Barn in Nashville. On Wednesday nights at 7 CST, we broadcast over WRLT-FM, Lightning 100 and select radio affiliates and we webcast via Livestream.com in HD quality video. With this blend of platforms old and new, MCR revives the historic legacy of live musical production in Nashville and aims to cultivate a worldwide community of music makers and music lovers. On the air since October 2009, Roots has become an anchor in the nation's best music scene and a vehicle for discovery of emerging artists and legendary talent alike.
The show is hosted by Grammy-winning recording artist and songwriter Jim Lauderdale, with the help of emcee Keith Bilbrey (a veteran of the Grand Ole Opry itself) and music journalist Craig Havighurst, who interviews the artists on stage between sets and who blogs about the show at www.musiccityroots.com. Each week we feature four to six artists in a two-to-three hour show. It's always a great time in person or on the air. Please join us at the Edge of Music City, Wednesday evenings at 7 CST.
