June 25, 2009, the day that Michael Jackson died, was the saddest day of my life. I was watching Black to the Future and the Michael Jackson part was just about to come on, when my friend texted me saying that Michael Jackson had died and that she was very sorry because she know how huge of a fan I was. I laughed and showed my mom the text and said that she was just being stupid. My mom started to get a little nervous and told me to check the news just in case there was some truth to it. She had gotten me a little nervous but I was sure it was just a joke. I went to my laptop and checked the news page and on the first page it said that Michael Jackson had been rushed to the hospital due to cardiac arrest. I ran to the living room and turned on the news and sat there in astonishment as I read the headlines flashing across the screen. I was sure that he would make it through this terrible occurance, but unfortunately he did not. As soon as his death was confirmed, I dropped to my knees and sobbed. The King of Pop was dead! Music itself was dead. No 50 concerts, no new album, and no more MJ. My life had just been torn apart. The weather started to turn dark and it began to pour. It was as if the heavens were crying. Ever since that moment at 2:26 pm (PST), there has been a huge gaping hole in my heart where Michael used to live. Everyone kept telling me to get over myself and that I never knew him, but in a way I felt as if I did. Michael and his music have helped me through tough times, have made me a better person, and have tought me how to love everyone unconditionally. Part of me and every other fan has died along side this wonderful man. He truly was GONE TOO SOON! I love you Michael and Rest in Peace. I will see you when I get to heaven...oh and say hi to Brandon for us!
