House of Musical Traditions in Takoma Park, MD (just outside of Washington DC) is a dealer for James Goodall acoustic guitars. Here we have Mark Sylvester, one of our guitar teachers, demonstrating the Aloha Concert Jumbo Koa model. The Aloha is a no-compromise, entry-level Goodall. While the grade of Koa is slightly less fancy then the presentation grade you'd see on their higher-priced models, and though the cosmetic design is a bit simpler, you still get the great tone, playability and looks that you'd find on any Goodall.
This model features a Concert Jumbo body, Koa back & sides, Sitka Spruce top, Black fiber binding, Pheasant Wood (Hawaiian hardwood) fretboard & bridge, Pearl rosette & peghead logo, and Chrome Gotoh tuners. Standard hardshell case is included.
List Price on this model is $3,220. For availability and our discounted price, please contact HMT directly at hmtmail@hmtrad.com or 301-270-9090, or visit our website at www.hmtrad.com.
Goodall Guitars are handmade by James Goodall and his small staff of craftspeople. The Goodall shop has recently relocated to Fort Bragg, CA, but this particular guitar was one of the last ones made in the Kailua-Kona, Hawaii shop. Every Goodall guitar features superb craftsmanship, an exacting finesse for detail and wood choice, and robust, three dimensional sound character.

On this video Mark is playing two original selections from his CD "Music For Solo Guitar." The first is called "American Gypsy Pt 2;" the second is "I'll Not Be Weary."
Video produced by Glenn Tucker with audio engineered by HMT's in-house engineer and pro audio repairman Trevor Higgins. We used Neuman TLM103s through a tube preamp and with a DBX compressor set in stereo.
