My icon is green because I don't like to see people dying in the streets -- victims of theocratic power-mongers.
In spirit, I support those Iranians who believe that the worst excesses of Sharia law are medieval and barbaric. One cannot have true freedom in a society without fair laws. This means that the punishment must NEVER exceed the crime.
However, they are suffering under a tyranny enabled by the ill-advised revolution of 1979 that put hope in fundamenalist excesses. Not all revolutions have beneficial outcomes for a society -- let's hope that this one does.

About Me:
Second, I think that secular humanism is the only hope for peace, and that compassion is the best criterion for assessing morality. So, I have become anti-religion.
Creationists and fundamentalists drove me to anti-theism.
Fundamentalism is a menace on the planet. It is a menace to its adherents. It is a menace to non-adherents. It is a menace to life, limb, emotional-health, and rationality. Fundamentalism and its supporting religions have to go.
Free speech is an important CIVIC principle. Unfortunately, this valuable means of reducing oppression also protects dangerous misinformation, venomous trolling, and those who, lacking evidence or a logical argument, cannot resist gratuitous insults. If you post any of these, your comment will be removed and your channel blocked. Don't whine that you were not warned.
Equally, you would be entitled to block my comments. However, I do not bother to frequent theist channels because I have heard theist arguments ad nauseam -- and they all fail.
