This would work great if you're cooking and your partner comes up behind you and puts their arms around you to tell you they love you or something. Not so sure how it would work in a real attack.

I understand. I do feel, however, that kicks are excellent if kept low (like you said) in multiple attacker situations. Too high and your off balance and you lose power. But, if you're on the ground and your attacker isn't, kicking is one of the only options you have if you don't have a weapon...
