Well, I am not sure where to start. It has occurred to me that my bio I have had up for many years is no longer relevant, so it is time for something fresh.

Hi, my name is Mel. I am 25 y/o and live in Texas. I guess the most important thing to know about me, is that GOD Is in the center of everything I do, and without him I would be truly lost in life. he has sustained me through so much, including losing everything (job, house, car, etc.....). I was in a homeless shelter in Fort Worth for a good part of six months in 2009. I thank God for allowing me the humbling experience that brought.

I am much stronger for it, and am reminded of his promise in James 1 - Where he tells us that we are to consider it pure joy when we face trials of many kinds, for we know that the testing of our faith develops perseverance, and perseverance must have it's work so that we can be blameless, pure, holy, and lacking nothing. This is such an amazing testimony of God's hand on our life. I am truly blessed to be able to live my faith in a county where it is not illegal to be a Christian. I was raised as a pastor's child, and I feel this truly shaped my current faith. I came to know God when I was 5, and have been active in church since.

Some of the things God is doing for me recently include opening doors for all kinds of things. I am happily engaged to a wonderful man, sent from God and am thrilled to be tying the knot in less than a year! Three years ago I surrendered to the mission field, and am still waiting on God to open the proper doors (all in HIS timing!)

My faith shapes my life and my beliefs. I am pro-life and against gay-marriage. God ordained marriage as ONE MAN and ONE WOMAN. God is the creator and sustainer, and the taker away of life - not us, so while we as a country allow the unborn to be considered "disposable tissue" we tread on playing the place of God... and that is not our job.

I am also very passionate about animal abuse and neglect. For someone to treat one of God's creatures cruelly, and withhold from them the basic need for affection and love, is simple evil. All of creation is precious to him. I am against animal testing, circuses, and abuse or cruelty.

Other activist groups I am in are ASPCA, Pro-Life (Life Dynamics), and Children of God for Life as well as World Vision. I have a passion for web design and "behind the scenes" I also have the spiritual gift of administration. The bottom line is, I pray God would use me - to lead others to where they need to be. I have a desire to be all God wants me to be, and while it may be a day at a time, will get there!
