Blues is like that. It can have duple meter, it can be 8, 12, 9, 10, 16 bars, some of them all in the same song. It's African roots get shown in something like "Grinnin' in your Face." Trying to impose European constructs on blues is humorous, and naive. Listen harder, and learn.
