About Mexican Flolkloric Dance Group

Welcome to Mexico Lindo -- Folklore Dance Group. We are nonprofit since 1999 that creates programs for children, youth and adults in the community. Our objective is to provide a safe environment programs in the community for children, youth and adult. Mexico Lindo have participated in schools, churches, and festivals. As a nonprofit we encourage children, youth and adult to learn Mexican heritage. Contact us how you can be part of Mexico Lindo.

The Mexican Folklore Dance Mexico Lindo emerged from the idea of Father Lorenzo Hubbard, priest of the community of "Sacred Heart of Jesus" in Minneapolis. The youth program of the community of SHJ, "Friends of Jesus" started with the group on November 19, 1999 and named it "Mexico Lindo". Father Lorenzo opened the invitation to the whole community, youth and adults. On May 2000, the group had its first appearance as a folkloric group, dancing for their community SHJ, showing four different regions, Aguas Calientes, Baja California Sur, Durango and Chiapas (Bolonchon). After that the group is participating in different communities as: schools, churches, universities, community centers, bussiness, festivals, etc. In Fall of 2004, the group started to involved children as part of the performances, but the group officially presents The "Children's Group Mexico Lindo on Winter of 2008. Actually Mexico Lindo has about 50 members between children, youth and adults.

Mexico Lindo is responding to the need to create positive programs where children, youth and adults can invest time and energy to develop and to provide a safe environment.

Mission

One of the objectives of the group is maintain the proud of our Mexican heritage by showing all the different regions with the colorful costumes and unique music for the general public enjoyment
